On behalf of the Town of Snow Lake Town Council, our town staff, and I, the mayor, I would like to welcome you to our town website! Snow Lake is located in Northern Manitoba, approximately 700 km north of Winnipeg. We are known as a mining community. Many people in Snow Lake love it here because of the great outdoors – fishing, snowmobiling, ATV off-roading, boating, snowshoeing, skiing, golfing, you name it – when it comes to the outdoors, Snow Lake is YOUR community! Not only is the outdoors fun for activities, it is an absolutely gorgeous view; the scenery and nature absolutely cannot be beat here!
Here in Snow Lake, we have a few local stores, restaurants, a bank, a post office, a municipal office, a medical centre, a school, churches – the list goes on. We have many recreational facilities as well that include, but are not limited to, a community hall, arena, curling rink, indoor and outdoor shooting ranges, a beach, tennis court, volleyball nets, and playgrounds. There are many walking and biking trails, ski trails, snowshoeing trails, and snowmobile trails as well. We have many social events go on throughout the year such as fundraisers, dances, socials, suppers, auctions, a Canada Day parade and many Canada Day events, our famous Snow Lake Winter Who-ot, Junior Canadian Rangers, and so much more – there is endless fun here in Snow Lake!
Our Mining Museum is also a must-see here in Snow Lake – it contains many exhibits, historical displays, and is an excellent wealth of information. We greatly value our museum; being known as a mining town, it definitely helps people understand what our community is like.
If you visit our town, you will truly not regret it. Take the time to take in all of the nature, scenery, wildlife, history; lay back and relax, and make some time for some FUN!
Best regards – we hope you love our community as much as we do!
Mayor Kim Stephen
